Alex is our Practice Manager and Veterinary assistant, she has been working with Doctor Mundi at Gladys since 2016. She studied pre-medicine at Valley City State University in North Dakota on a softball scholarship, working towards becoming a veterinarian. After a career ending injury she came back to BC and pursued other career options. The pull to working with animals was just too strong and she started at Gladys Pet Hospital in March 2016. Through the years working at the hospital, Alex has been able to establish great relationships and friendships with rescue groups within the community. Through these relationships she has obtained quite a full house of rescue animals. Alex shares her home with a black lab mix named Sky who is a medical nightmare! She has a disease that is comparable to systemic lupus called Canine Idiopathic Dermatomyositis and when her original family saw she was struggling she was kicked outside to fend for herself. She came to the rescue with a horrible mouth infection and multiple other problems. After working with Sky to help get to the bottom of her condition Alex fell in love with the feisty pooch, she now runs the household with no teeth, missing ½ an ear, no tail and a lack of hair in spots and she is loved beyond loved! Next comes a giant canine Chopper the big blue Great Dane, four frisky felines Harley, Odin, Kung Fu Panda and 19-year-old Agnes, a 3-legged hamster named Kevin and 6 beautiful heritage chickens Luanne, Nancy, Peggy, Penny, Lacey and Freckles… Oh and of course her husband Nathan. When she is not working, Alex enjoys growing fresh veggies in her garden, horseback riding, taking her dogs for truck rides and walks, camping and spending time outdoors listening to country music with her friends and family!
