Dawn is our veterinary technician. She studied Animal Health Technology at Thompson River University graduating in 2001. She worked in a fast-paced clinic in Surrey doing the majority of the dental work on top of her regular duties.  She also served as a live-in nurse for overnight medications, feedings and care.  Dawn took a leave from her career to have 2 children and focus on being a mom.  During this time, she found her passion for newborn and baby photography. Dawn was very excited to step back into the animal world and join the team at Gladys.
Dawn has a huge passion for pets and has quite the zoo. Dawn has a 1 year old Lab x Maremma rescue pup named Jane, a fuzzy 2 year old lop bunny, Pepsi and 5…. yes 5 cats. Dawn had 2 cats when she started working at Gladys, Meow Meow (9) and Jones (5) but has added 3 rescue babes since. Ben and Suzy are 1-year old kitties that were bottle fed orphans, Dawn took them on at 2 weeks old with around the clock bottle feeding and they became permanent residents in her heart. She recently took on a kitten brought in to be euthanized due to having spinal bifida and not being able to go to the bathroom by herself. Dawn took one look at her big baby blue eyes and said don’t worry I will take her on! Daily bladder expression, diapers and newborn onesies are preparing Dawn and family who have recently been surprised with the news that a human baby will be joining the family at the end of the summer. When not at work, which seems like her second home, Dawn enjoys spending time with her family in between running around with her kids and their armload of activities.
