Our Story
Gladys Pet Hospital opened its doors in April of 2016 with Dr. Jatinder Mundi at the helm and only three support staff. The practice grew quickly. What started as a small clinic serving Mission and Abbotsford pet owners became a multi-doctor hospital with a full team of Registered Veterinary Technicians and support staff, and access to board-certified specialists for cases requiring a higher level of care.
In 2024, Gladys Pet Hospital achieved AAHA accreditation through the American Animal Hospital Association. It was a milestone that reflected what the team had been working toward since opening day: a practice that holds itself to a higher standard and keeps raising the bar. We thank the Abbotsford community and every client and patient who has trusted us along the way.
Our Philosophy
We believe the relationship between a veterinary team and the families they serve is built on trust, and that trust has to be earned at every visit. Our team is committed to an ambitious programme of continuing education and to making the most current advances in veterinary care available to our clients. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to animal health: every patient is different, every family’s situation is different, and the care we provide reflects that.
Whether you are navigating the early months of puppyhood or kittenhood, managing an ongoing health condition, or walking alongside a senior pet through the harder seasons of life, we are here for all of it. Your pet is part of your family. We treat them as part of ours.
Meet the Team
Dr. Jatinder Mundi is a fully licensed veterinarian with over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine and surgery. Before founding Gladys Pet Hospital, Dr. Mundi served as an assistant professor at the College of Veterinary Sciences, Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana, and practiced in Saskatchewan and Alberta before establishing his career in the lower mainland. He is known for being honest, thorough, and calm with every patient he sees, and his approach is reflected in the culture of the whole clinic. In his spare time, Dr. Mundi enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, and the company of his dog, Raavi.

Community Involvement in Abbotsford
Giving back to the community that has supported us matters deeply to our team. We are proud to support local rescue and shelter organisations including the SPCA, Heart and Soul, Doxie and Friends, Abby Cat Daddy, and the Lowermainland Humane Society. These organisations do vital work for animals in our region, and we are honoured to play a part in supporting them.

Gladys Pet Hospital is a proud member of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and operates under the standards and oversight of the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC).
Awards and Recognition
Gladys Pet Hospital is AAHA Accredited through the American Animal Hospital Association. AAHA accreditation is a voluntary distinction held by fewer than 15 percent of animal hospitals across North America. To earn it, hospitals must meet and maintain elevated standards across client service, medical records, surgery, anaesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, facility cleanliness, and emergency readiness. It is reviewed regularly, and we are proud to uphold it.
